Somebody of substantial standing just died in the neighbourhood. By the looks of the elaborate funeral wake, there should be very traditional rites conducted in the next few days, culminating in a very rarely seen send-off. I have not seen any such arrangements since the days of my late grandfather. Then, those who could afford, paid a great deal of attention to ceremonial funerals.
